I saw "histocompatibility" and had to giggle - used to work in a blood lab, after all.
Still, the wyvern technology sounds very interesting, particularly the bit about them being mammals. I'd never have guessed that. I mean, I was assuming reptilian, possibly warm-blooded ala saurian fauna, but still.
This also makes me wonder a bit about Calder; as in, why on earth is the poor thing so attached to Tamsin if Keiran was his creator (or was he?). I do hope the baby isn't overheating and gasping his life out beside a highway somewhere.
Anyway, sorry for the lateness of commenting, but I certainly did enjoy.
